Starting to Enjoy Hills

The last 3 miler for a long time continued the trend from this weekend’s 7 miler and Tuesday night’s 5 miler.  I Ran basically the same route as the 5 miler except I added a really nice hill in the middle and shortened the flat areas.  The middle hill was a little tough, but felt good as cars were passing…knowing I’ve never seen anyone running this hill, people were either thinking “wow” or “that guy is crazy”….either way, I like it.  I plan to continue the hill training trend as I think it will only make flat running easier…plus it’s a good start for training for the 50.  It feels good to go out everytime and push my endurance instead of just running to get it overwith.

My overall pace was a cool 9:23, not too fast, not too slow, considering the hills and the fact that I was kind of taking it easy.  The hills really didn’t bother me.  My breathing was under control and my legs didn’t get fatigued.  The hill training is working already.

See my run below, and for those keeping count, the standard deviation was 79.23.
